And it doesn't reboot.

I know the reboot command is fine. This is running as root since its a loginhook, right? I've got my sudoers set so I could sudo inside the script if I have to.

As for setting the startup disk to windows. When I run the command I'm trying in a terminal, I get an error "cant's statfs /Volumes/Untitled/". I see some apple-scripts out there, but they're basically calling the exact same shell commands I'm trying to run to do this.

I wonder if its because the volume needs to chkdsk itself. That's the first thing it does when booting into the freshly deployed windows image. Seems to be. Just checked system prefs, and even the GUI doesn't give me the option to change startup disk to windows right after installing the winclone image.

Read the main topic related to this post
Fri Sep 25, 2009 4:31 am http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=293#p729 Add additional applications to PKGImage netboot image ? http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=294#p726
by Dominic (Posted Wed Sep 16, 2009 9:13 pm)

Hi c0rtex

Yes that should not be an issue at all...

The best way would be to create a simple project in xcode that has the tool bar that you want...

It would not even have to start up any window app just load a toolbar.

Then add the menu items that you want...

You would need to change the rc.cdrom.posrWS file to point at your app..

just edit the one that comes with PKGImage and change

/Applications/Utilities/PKGImage.app/Contents/MacOS/PKGImage

to your app name..

If you need a hand to rough out a quick app let me know...

Dominic

Read the main topic related to this post
Wed Sep 16, 2009 9:13 pm http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=294#p726 Printers http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=292#p722
by Dominic (Posted Sat Sep 05, 2009 8:21 pm)

If you are using windows print server for all your printers then this can be a little bit of a pain...

If you are using a Mac Server then simple.

Just add the Bonjour printer being served from the Mac Server to the OPen Directory/WGM Server then add as a preference. I've got a few machines - too much right now to setup in a magic triangle or something - but do join AD. I'm looking at using a mix of template management and tricks and WGM in localhost mode. So that's how I found http://www.apple-scripts.com/Downloads/ ... __136.zipn but I found that it seemed to be copying "everything", like the keychain file. The included scripts are run-only so I can't tweak them (not that I'm real good at appelscript) but perhaps there should be some facility for a cleanup or don't include x/y/z files....

Any help? I tried searching for template but it's locked out as a frequent work.

Read the main topic related to this post
Wed Jul 29, 2009 7:36 pm http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=291#p714 New Netboot Image - Kernel Panic http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=289#p712
by Dominic (Posted Wed Jul 29, 2009 10:11 am)

Thank you

Dominic

Read the main topic related to this post
Wed Jul 29, 2009 10:11 am http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=289#p712 Some PKGImage comments... http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=190#p700
by Dominic (Posted Wed Jun 24, 2009 4:20 pm)

Hi Tense

This is actually quite hard..

Because the .pkg files are installed by the client in a list it is hard to work out the overall time... This is maybe a month away at the moment but the results look very promising for speed, and ease of updating ..

Thank you for the feed back..

Dominic

Read the main topic related to this post
Sat Feb 14, 2009 1:13 am http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=185#p548 AD admins, admin OD? http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=183#p546
by notverypc (Posted Thu Feb 12, 2009 6:05 pm)

Still no joy. :(

Read the main topic related to this post
Thu Feb 12, 2009 6:05 pm http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=183#p546 Spam http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=182#p526
by Dominic (Posted Wed Feb 04, 2009 11:49 am)

The Forum got spammed at the weekend

I have had to make a change to guest posting as the spam was getting past the verification method. you will now need to be logged in to post.

I will be looking to turn it back on when i have a better verification system.

Read the main topic related to this post
Wed Feb 04, 2009 11:49 am http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=182#p526 Creating PKG files of your Software http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=147#p525
by Dominic (Posted Wed Feb 04, 2009 11:46 am)

Thats a nuisance...it was a nice tool....

have a look at LanRev....

http://www.lanrev.com/solutions/package-building.html

this is now my preferred way to create a pkg.... and its free.

I will update the PDF to include LanRev and remove PkgGen unless i can find it on a computer...

Read the main topic related to this post
Wed Feb 04, 2009 11:46 am http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=147#p525 Restrict Users from Modifying Dock http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=172#p514
by Dominic (Posted Wed Jan 14, 2009 4:28 pm)

i take it just refreshing the dock prefs would not be enough?

I would experiment with creating the managed prefs and the MCX plists...

Read the main topic related to this post
Wed Jan 14, 2009 4:28 pm http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=172#p514 AD Authentication no Longer Working http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=166#p506
by Dominic (Posted Fri Dec 05, 2008 9:25 pm)

when you do a refresh on the AD do they appear or is there a delay?

Read the main topic related to this post
Fri Dec 05, 2008 9:25 pm http://www.apple-scripts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=166#p506
